Miss your CPD and you risk losing your title.

ARB’s CPD requirements are now mandatory for every UK architect.

Failure to comply can lead to removal from the Register — and without registration, you cannot legally call yourself an architect.

Keep your CPD organised, compliant, and audit-ready with developThat.

Warning…

Why CPD Compliance Matters More Than Ever

Architects tell the same story:

  • CPD notes scattered across notebooks, emails, PDFs

  • Learning recorded in spreadsheets that never get updated

  • Reflections left until the last minute

  • Evidence saved on desktops or random folders

  • No clear idea of what ARB will expect in an audit

  • No system for planning CPD that actually supports competence

The risk?

When ARB asks for your CPD record… you’re not ready.

Since 2024, CPD has become a legal requirement for Architects.

Every architect must:

  • Complete CPD that meets ARB’s mandatory learning areas

  • Record and store CPD evidence

  • Write reflections that demonstrate competence

  • Submit records for audit when requested

  • Maintain compliance annually

And if you don’t?

  • You can be removed from the Register

  • You will not be legally allowed to use the title Architect

  • You must pay extra to rejoin

  • You may face delays in reinstatement

For many practitioners, this is new territory, and easy to get wrong without a clear, structured system.

Are your Records Organised?

What happens if you don’t comply with ARB’s CPD requirements?

  • You can be removed from the Register

  • You must pay a fee and reapply to rejoin

  • You may be asked to evidence past CPD

  • You cannot legally use the title Architect while off the Register

  • You may face questions from employers or clients

developThat helps ensures you meet every requirement, every year, eliminating this stress completely.
